3d printing and me

I need a phone holder for my tripod ...

I have recently been bought a 3d printer for a significant birthday...

Putting these two facts together it is of course a 'no-brainer' to print my own!

However, this is all very new to me and as a fifty year old female (FYOF 😲) I find myself full of doubt.  As far as I can tell 3D printing seems to be the preserve of the young and male.  I looked to YouTube for advice on my 3D printer and there was lots of info but all from very clever, twenty something men.  I needed reassurance that a someone like me who does not possess any qualifications in electronics or engineering and merely a self taught background of crafting  can get to grips with this.

Well, thanks to my very clever, twenty something son (!) who set everything up for me and gave me a crash course in how it all works (which I had to jot down 'old school' in a notebook thanks to my peri-menopausal mind) I am writing this as my 'Ender 3' printer whirs away next to me.

Stay tuned to see if this FYOF has triumphed or not...
